The reinforcing element, usually a geotextile, is inserted into the soil to provide increased resistance to sliding along a probable failure surface. It is used to model slopes or reinforced embankments. In Slope, the reinforcement element can be inserted punctually on the geotechnical section thanks to the specific command on the command bar (from Tests-loads-works >> Reinforcement element). The programme performs the stability check and provides a factor of safety considering the contribution of the reinforcement element.
MRE, on the other hand, is a module implemented in Slope and allows a reinforced ‘wall’ to be modelled and verified. The verifications that the programme provides are tilting, creep, limit load, buckling and failure of the reinforcement. In addition, the model created in MRE can be exported to Slope, inserted on the slope at the point where the intervention is planned and then the stability verification performed with the presence of the work.
