If the kerb is sufficiently rigid, it serves to ensure that the piles function as a single block, and as such, since the piles behave in the same way, assuming flat deformations, there are no stresses on the kerb itself (it is permissible to consider the kerb out of the calculation and assign, as the programme does, the minimum reinforcement in accordance with the regulations).
However, it is sometimes assumed that a post goes into failure, so that the kerb is calculated as a multi-supported beam stressed by vertical loads and loads specific to the geometry adopted (its own weight, loads on the kerb…).
